Reading Roadrunners dominate at Running4Women Windsor 10k
Reading Roadrunners athletes took first and second place at the Running4Women Windsor 10km at the weekend [27 SEPTEMBER 2014].
Ellie Gosling crossed the line in 41 minutes and 13 seconds, 12 seconds clear of club mate Sarah Urwin-Mann. The pair were more than two minutes ahead of third-placed Collette Callahan, of Sandhurst Joggers, who finished in 43:45.
The women-only race, which followed a hilly route through Windsor Great Park in Berkshire, started and finished on the Long Walk and attracted a field of 485.
Sports coach and events organiser Ellie, 29, was also first across the line at the Quintiles Reading Triathlon Sprint on 7 September — just 10 weeks after having her first baby.
With husband Ian, Ellie runs Reading-based Barnes Fitness and has a solid track record as a GB age group triathlete. She won silver at the 2013 ITU World Standard Distance Duathlon Championships and bronze at the 2013 National Duathlon Championships, and has a marathon best time of 3:07:00.
Vet40 Sarah recently took the Barnes Fitness Dinton Summer Series 5km overall women’s title after winning the final race in the four-fixture series at Dinton Pastures Country Park, near Reading, in 19:32 to set a new course record.
